Apendix Article: Light Street's Partnership Agreement

Light Street Presbyterian Church ("Light Street"), a member congregation of The Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.), The Synod of the Mid-Atlantic and The Presbytery of Baltimore, desires and,
by the grace of God, intends to join the Presbytery and our brothers and sisters in Christ at
Ashland Presbyterian Church in developing a relationship of mutual mission and support with
the congregations of El Centro Presbytery in general, and with Iglesia Presbiteriana Reformada
de Cabaiguan and its mission church in Paraiso in particular, in Cuba.
Light Street is an inclusive family of faith, dedicated to witnessing, recognizing and
demonstrating The Love of God and The Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ in our local community,
in our country and in the world. As The Spirit leads us, we are committed to learning, teaching
and living Christ-like practices of non-violence as a means of achieving peace with justice for all
of God's creation.
In partnership with other individuals and faith communities in general, and with the church at
Cabaiguan and Paraiso in particular, we seek to provide and receive the benefits of a close,
familial relationship: to know and to care about each other; to communicate respectfully and
regularly with each other, and to visit each other as God provides; to share each other's joys and
sorrows; to encourage and support each other on our journeys of faith and in our mutual mission;
and, above all, to pray for each other without ceasing.
THEREFORE:
The Session of Light Street Presbyterian Church invites the Session of Iglesia Presbiteriana
Reformada de Cabaiguan and the church at Paraiso to resolve likewise to form a sister church
relationship among our congregations, and, if the way be clear, to affirm their desire and
intention to do so by their signatures below:
