The Obvious:
Sturdy sandals, a brimmed hat, sunglasses.
Sunscreen, Light colored clothes, a warm wrap for December - April trips.
A more formal outfit for Sundays. Short sleeved shirts and slacks appropriate for men.
Normal travel items, but add Imodium, band-aids, bug repellent, and laxatives.
Sheets and pillow cases (check for location and consult group coordinator._
A mosquito net (some IPRC churches have them, but check).
A towel and wash cloth.
A camera w/ charger. Cuban electricity is about 105 volts, a little slower than ours
The Not so Obvious
A journal
A simple gift for your host church.
Chocolate (the universal friend maker)
What to Leave in Cuba:
This is the good part. After having lugged all the meds and other items through two airports you can now abandon much of your excess weight in the Cuban communities you're visiting.
Joyfully accepted items:
Personal care items: toothpaste, shampoo and the like
Sheets and pillow cases.
t-shirts, jeans, skirts, blouses...etc.
Things the community can share.
