As we enter 2011, it's obvious that the changes in Federal Law will affect all phases of our partnership with El Centro Presbytery's Churches. For the moment, here is a table of trip expenses that one can use to construct a viable trip budget.

We are anticipating that later in the year, or surely by 2012 charter companies will see the advantage in setting up shop in other international airports. Washington D.C. is likely. When that happens we will be able to fly directly to Havana and other Cuban destinations, thus making the overnight in Miami avoidable.

It is assumed that delegates have a passport with at least six months left before expiration.

Domestic Flight (BWI) to Miami (MIA)........variable.................$149.00 - $250.00...........bought online

Charter Flight (MIA) to Havana (HAV)........reduced 2011........$380.00..........................via TACA / Marazul

Cuban Visa..................................................increased 2011.....93 CUC / $111.60 USD    (paid in CUC)

Cuban Airport Tax (departing HAV)............no increase 2011...25 CUC / 30 USD           (paid in CUC)

Ground Transportation  (varies with delegation size / allow for 20-80 CUC / 25-100 USD per person

Gratuity to Host Church..............................normal..................15 CUC /day/person - 18 USD/day/person

Assuming a currency exchange of 1 CUC = .80 USD (or) 1 USD = 1.20 CUC, the minimum a person should carry to Cuba as cash to be paid for services should be approximately $370.00.
